Bay Ferries has introduced safety measures to help reduce the chances of spread of COVID-19 and provide a safe ferry voyage between Bar Harbor, Maine, and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. We’ve taken a series of measures to help encourage safe social distancing at both check-in and during your voyage on board.

Face masks are highly recommended all indoor public spaces on board the vessel and at terminals.

During the voyage, please follow proper hand washing procedures and use the supplied hand sanitizer when needed.

Terminal buildings remain open to provide washroom access and as a waiting area for walk-on passengers. It is highly recommended that passengers wear a face mask before  entering, while inside and when seated in the Terminal building, ensuring to physically distance when possible.

All passengers, including walk-on passengers, are required to arrive at least 1 hour prior departure. Check-in will close approximately 30 mins before scheduled departure time.

These measures are important to ensure adequate timing of luggage handling and passenger shuttle to the vessel.

Cleaning and sanitization practices have been heightened during and between voyages. Enhanced sanitation practices are followed in line with the recommended public health guidelines and sanitation best practices.

In an effort to provide our passengers and crew the cleanest air possible, The CAT has been fitted with an ultraviolet air filtration system.

Once on board, please maintain a distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from staff and passengers not in your immediate party.
