Reservations are recommended in order to guarantee passage on the departure of your choosing. Passage is available without a reservation however it is on a first come, first served basis. Online bookings are available for walk-on passengers, motorcycles and automobiles less than 7’ high and 20’ long (car, pickup truck, SUV). All other vehicle types must call toll free 1-877-762-7245 to book. Accurate overall vehicle height and length are required at time of booking.

One-way travel from Caribou, Nova Scotia, to Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island, is available for automobiles (car, pickup truck, SUV; less than 7’ high and 20’ long) at no fee on a first come, first served basis, however spaces cannot be guaranteed without a reservation. Travellers who wish to book a one-way reservation from Caribou, Nova Scotia, will be subject to a fee of $84. One-way reservations from Caribou may later be converted to a round-trip reservation should travellers decide to exit Prince Edward Island via ferry. Travellers departing Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge will be responsible for paying the Confederation Bridge toll.
There are parking lots at each terminal which are accessible for passengers to be picked up.
Yes, parking is available at both terminals. In Wood Islands, parking is located behind the terminal building. Look for signs marked “public parking”. In Caribou, parking is located beside the terminal building/cafeteria and can be accessed by taking a right turn at the junction at the entrance to the compound. Parking is at your own risk.
In event of a cancelled crossing, Northumberland Ferries Limited will send you an email advisory including options on how to rebook or cancel your reservation.

The Viewing Decks offer a great opportunity to walk around the ships, as well as take in the beautiful views of the Northumberland Strait. It is quite common to spot seals, birds and often porpoises swimming alongside the ships. The Viewing Decks are a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the crossing!
