Embrace The Snow in New Brunswick

Sometimes, love makes you feel like you’re floating, and you might get that same feeling when you embark on the Maritime’s highest vertical descent with your loved one. Crabbe Mountain offers 30 kilometres of skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoe terrain. Take in the beautiful snow-covered mountains, get some fresh air, and create a memory like no other. If you aren’t an experienced hill-goer, book a couple’s lesson and learn a new skill together. Then, top off your day by closing it out with some Après Ski at Diner Down Under for some nice home-style cooking.

Experience and Taste Local

Bundle up and enjoy the Saint John City Market in New Brunswick together. Open Monday to Saturday — farmers, creators, and suppliers gather to invite visitors to buy and taste local food and goodies! Find fresh ingredients to take home, buy a hand-crafted gift, or enjoy hot food on-site. The Farmer’s Market is a wonderful activity to kick off the week with your special someone. Whether you want to grab some baked goods or purchase fresh produce to cook with, you can’t go wrong. Visit the Saint John City Market at 47 Charlotte Street in Saint John.

Hike on a Floating Boardwalk

Love is all about the journey! Get off the beaten path and take in the Greenwich Beach Provincial Park. The hike is a popular winter outing for locals because it exudes a natural and wild environment and is an easy 2.4 kilometres one-way with almost zero elevation gain. The well-marked trail starts at the parking lot past the Interpretation Centre. It features farmland, forest, a floating boardwalk, and giant parabolic dunes. Experience a sense of wonder with your loved one and end the day with a visit to the Seafood Shack to dine on some salty dishes and sides to get the whole PEI date experience.

Enter a PEI Winter Wonderland

Colder weather always captures the attention of the Maritimes, and Charlottetown’s beloved Ice City Festival celebrates the magic of the winter season! There are lots of fun activities going on all February into March. Experience wagon rides, take in some entertainment, or have a winter patio beer at various restaurants as they transform into figurative Sugar Shacks — featuring photo ops, maple sugar sticks, seasonal food, and beverages. So grab a blanket and your partner to embark on a winter adventure. Plan your rendezvous ahead of time and pick out where you’re going to visit for the Ice City Festival.

Skate and Play in Downtown Halifax

If you’re a couple who likes to be on the move — skating at the Oval paired with gaming at the Board Room Café is calling your names.

The Oval is one of the best accidents to happen to Halifax. It was put in place temporarily for the Canada Games, but they decided to make it permanent since it was a city favourite. Skates and helmets are available to rent, and if one of you is better than the other, hold hands to enhance that spark and stay on your feet. Munch on hot chocolate and a Beavertail when you need a break. Then, when you’re tired of skating and chilly, head over to the Board Room Café, settle in with another snack, and play one of their many board games on hand.
